Remembering Revolutionary War patriots buried at Delta Cemetery
WESTERN — The Oriskany Battle Chapter, Empire State Society (NY), National Society, Sons of the American Revolution gathered on Saturday, Aug. 20, to remember the seven Revolutionary War patriots buried at Delta Cemetery and for the dedication of the William G Pomeroy Foundation Patriot Burial Marker.
Speakers at the dedication included: DeWitt Cosman, descendant of Ebenezer B. Gould and other Goulds buried in Delta Cemetery, Trena DeFranco, Regent, Oneida Chapter, National Society, Daughters of the American Revolution, and Pomeroy Foundation Speaker Jodi Oaks.
The Patriot Burials Marker Grant Program provides Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) chapters with the opportunity to apply for historic markers to be placed in locations where Revolutionary War Patriots are buried.
