Registration under way for Y-Care Summer Day Camp
ROME — YMCA of the Greater Tri-Valley has opened registration for its Y-Care Summer Day Camp.
Y-Care Summer Day Camps promise to provide 10 weeks of summer fun and adventure in a safe, state-licensed program.
Y-Care Summer Day Camp programs are for children entering kindergarten in the fall through age 15 and will be held in Rome, Oneida and Whitesboro, Monday through Friday, June 26 through Sept. 1 — 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
“We are excited to add music and cultural components to camp this year,” said Holly Panebianco, YMCA regional childcare director. “We will be learning about cultures different than our own, welcoming guest speakers and learning about ourselves and others through the love of music. Our days encourage exploration and development of new skills, physical activity and participation in games to keep our campers’ bodies moving.”
Camps are offered through the Rome YMCA at Gryziec Field, South James Street and Muck Road, 315-336-3500; the Oneida YMCA, 701 Seneca St., 315-363-7788; or the Tree House at Trinity Church, 8595 Westmoreland Road, Whitesboro, 315-571-5619.
Register by the week or for the entire summer by downloading a registration form for each camper at www.ymcatrivalley.com. Return the completed form to your child’s respective Y-Care location. For the Whitesboro location, submit to Rome YMCA.
Rates per week for members are $210 per week for the first child and $190 per week for the second child. The non-member rate is $250 per week for the first child and $230 per week for the second child. The YMCA accepts Department of Social Services (DSS) assistance.
“Our four core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility are essential parts of all of our programs,” explained Panebianco. “We value the unique personalities and potential of every child.”
She said, “As in the past, our care plans ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all campers. Families can expect as many outdoor activities as possible, small group sizes, and safety guidance as provided by the CDC.”
Families have trusted YMCA camps for generations because of their caring, trained staff and programs that foster skill development, inclusion and a safe, fun environment, said Panebianco.
Y-Care offers curriculum-based, year-round, state-licensed childcare programs.
