ROME — New participant registration for winter swimming classes will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 23, from 5:45-7:30 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 26, from 10-11:45 a.m. at the Rome Family YMCA, 301 W. Bloomfield St.

Lessons will be held at the Rome branch.

All children must be skill tested unless considered a Level 1-beginner or are age 3 and younger. Children should be dressed in a bathing suit for registration and skill level testing. Classes are on a first-come, first-served basis due to class size limitations and the number of available instructors.

Parents may choose their child’s class time and days at the time of registration.

The session runs for eight weeks with a built-in week for make-up lessons due to weather cancellation or an event that is out of the Y’s control.

Lessons will be held on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday beginning Nov. 28 and will end on Jan. 11. Saturday classes falling on Dec. 24 and Jan. 31 will be cancelled. Therefore, Saturday classes are scheduled to run until Jan. 28.

The cost for members is $30 per participant and $95 for non-members. Payment must be made at registration.

For additional information, contact the Rome YMCA at 315-336-3500 or visit their website at www.ymcatrivalley.org.
