Registration for November Food Sense to be held Oct. 29-30 at Lake Delta Fire Dept.


Registration for the November Food Sense at the Lake Delta Fire Dept. will be held on Friday, Oct. 29, from 1 to 3 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 30, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Pickup will be Friday, Nov. 19, from 1 to 3 p.m., according to an announcement by local program organizers.

This Food Sense program will continue to include Rome customers.

Both signups and pickup will follow Centers for Disease Control guidelines on masking and social distancing, the organizers added.

The cost is $20.50 per unit and is payable at the time of registration by cash, check, or food stamps. It consists of pork tenderloin, Italian meatballs, breaded fish, ground turkey, stuffing mix, instant mashed potatoes, turkey gravy, apple pie, corn, sweet potatoes, and two fresh
produce items.

Specials, purchased in addition to or separate from the unit, include a whole turkey, 10-12 pounds (avg) for $16.00; meatloaf, two pounds for $10.25: traditional meatloaf made with 100% ground beef; breaded shrimp, three pounds for $13.75: contains 16-20 shrimp per pound; stuffed pork chops, two pounds for $7.50: stuffed with apple and cranberries;
American cheese, five pounds for $11.50: sliced, not individually wrapped; and macaroni and cheese, six pounds for $11.00: family-sized, Stouffers’ product.
