ONEIDA — Registration is now being taken for the Tri-Valley YMCA’s Sensory Swim program, featuring accessible and integrated swim lessons and basic water safety and swimming skills for adults and children.

The program will be held at the Oneida branch, 701 Seneca St.

The fee is $35 for YMCA members, $50 for non-members. A participant’s support person is free. Interested individuals can register now through Friday, Sept. 30, by calling the Oneida YMCA front desk at 315-363-7788.

“A YMCA swim instructor leads the group in activities and the participants (and optional support persons) practice skills at their own pace and skill level,” explained YMCA Regional Aquatics Director Noah Farmer. “The instructor also works one-on-one with each person throughout the classes to meet individual needs.”

The instructor will be both in and out of the water during the class.

Classes begin Saturday, Oct. 1, and run through Saturday, Nov. 18, (with the exception of Oct. 8). The children’s class will take place from 8 to 8:30 a.m. The adult class will take place from 8:30 to 9 a.m.

For additional information, contact Farmer by email at nfarmer@ymcatrivalley.org.
