RCIL to participate in National Disability Voter Registration effort

The Living Independently is For Everyone at the Resource Center for Independent Living (LIFE at RCIL) will participate in the National Disability Voter Registration Week activities from Monday, Sept. 13, to Friday, Sept. 20, according to an announcement by the human service organization.

The focus of this campaign is to register, educate, and prepare voters with disabilities for the 2021 elections and beyond, the announcement said.

Historically, there have been many barriers that limit access to the ballot for disabled voters and others, say local LIFE at RCIL officials, who add that those who do not register to vote are not permitted to exercise that right, the announcement said.
