Lovable Ralph seeks a home

Hello! My name is Ralph, as of now I’m the longest standing member here at the shelter. I’m now going on a year next month, and it would be the best to have a home for Turkey Day or even better, for Christmas!

I’m five-years-old, and I currently reside over at the shelter business office where you can ask to visit with me. I actually like it better over here since I have plenty of room to roam around. I can be cat selective at times so I would recommend doing a slow introduction. I really do enjoy playing with kittens!

I recently also shared the house with my dear friend Nana, a lab mix who just got adopted, so you know I like dogs as well.

One of my favorite things in the world is cat grass, and I would do anything for it. I enjoy any type of catnip treat/toy and Friskies party mix treats are my favorite. I am known to be quite independent, but I’m also very sweet! I’m definitely a cuddler — just ask the staff.

I also enjoy playing with laser lights, I can’t ever get enough of the red dot. You know what? I will catch it one of these days.

Thank you! Ralph

Dear Ralph:

I guess ‘congrats’ should be in order for you being the longest standing resident at the shelter, but unfortunately that’s not the best news. We need to find you a home ASAP!

We understand that shelter life is comfy and cozy and they treat you very well, but you definitely need to move on, my friend. Readers, please help Ralph quit his day job and find his furr-ever home!

Good Luck, Ralph!

Sincerely, Winston

Winston says more

It’s that time of year–we have entered the season of cold temperatures. This is just a friendly reminder to please tap on your hoods and wheels and blow your horn before starting up your vehicle! Outdoor cats seek warmth and they very well may be in hiding!

Upcoming events

Humane Society Open House and pictures with Santa, Saturday, Dec. 4, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Bring your pet, children or take a family photo — the cost is $15 for a framed photo. Refreshments will be served. All dogs must be on leashes and cats must be in carriers.

Cat and kitten care

Did you know? The Shelter will trim the nails of your kittens and cats. It’s not necessary to make an appointment, but please call ahead if you can.

The Shelter invites the public to stop down and visit our cats and kittens to see if there’s a match, but if no one speaks to your heart, we also have cats located at PetSmart in New Hartford. Their hours of operation are Monday through Friday 5 to 7 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 2 to 4 p.m.
