NEW HARTFORD — The Utica and Mohawk Valley Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society will meet on Friday, April 9, at the Zion Lutheran Church at 7 p.m. The church is located on the corners of French and Burrstone Roads in the town of New Hartford.
Chapter president Harry Lenz will conduct the business portion of the meeting with reports on the Adirondack Scenic Railroad, the Chapter Picnic in August, along with many other activities and projects ahead in the coming months.
Wayne Freed will present a DvD on the Great New York State inspired model train layouts that include a layout of the City of Schenectady in the days of the New York Central and when the American Locomotive Corporation was in operation. It also includes the famed Horseshoe Curve in Altoona, Pa.
The meeting is open to anyone who enjoys railroads, as well as railroad history. The chapter will also invite guests to become members after the meeting and they also extend the invitation to the meeting to all active and retired railroad personnel.
