ROME — Join the Rome Art Association for its May Meeting with a watercolor demonstration with Kathy Kernan on Thursday, May 5 at 7 p.m. at the Cinema Capitol Gallery. This event is free and open to the public.

Kernan is currently a retired Utica City Public School Teacher, who until COVID, painted and taught watercolor as a way of connecting with other like-minded artists first at the Kirkland Art Center in Clinton and then at Perry junior High School in New Hartford.

Kernan is a signature artist in the Central New York Watercolor Society and belongs to the Cazenovia Watercolor Society and to the Mountain Air Painters of Old Forge. Her paintings have won regional and national awards and are represented in several private collections. She will talk about her experiences and give attendees tips and tricks to improve their skills.

Artists are encouraged to bring their own sketchbooks or supplies and ask questions.
