R-CATS to participate in Save A Life Campaign

The 2020 Staffworks Fund Save A Life Campaign will be matching donations to R-CATS Program Monday, Nov. 30, through Thursday, New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31. This year, the Save A Life Campaign has 38 participating animal welfare organizations located in 17 counties in New York State and Pennsylvania.

There are various levels for a campaign match, the first $10,000 in donations equals a $10,000 match; participants can also receive an additional $1,000 for every additional $5,000 in donations as well as a $2,000 bonus for reaching $100,000 in donations for a total potential of $30,000.

Since 2014, the Save A Life Campaign has raised more
than $3.1 million for non-profit organizations caring for at-risk animals in our regional community, with donors contributing more than $2.1 million to secure matching funds from the Staffworks Fund.

The support from Staffworks Fund and from the Save A Lift Campaign, as well as the generous people in the community, is important for the Program to continue to cover the costs to spay/neuter and vaccinate community cats in Rome during 2021, according to R-CATS program officials. Tax deductible donations made during the Save a Life Campaign will help the R-CATS Program reach its goal of raising $5,000 to help the cats, the officials add.

Anita Vitullo, founder of the Save A Life Campaign stated, “COVID has significantly affected fundraising efforts for many organizations that provide direct care and support services for homeless and abused animals, spay/neuter programs, and pet food pantries. While they are devoted to helping underserved animals, they cannot provide crucial services without our donations. Funds raised and matched during this Campaign will sustain these organizations’ operations and programs through 2021.”

During this campaign, you can increase the impact of giving by mailing your donation check to the R-CATS Program at P O Box 341, Rome, NY13442

The mission of the R-CATS Program, which was established in 2011, is to promote the humane approach to managing the homeless cat population in the City of Rome by working with caretakers and covering the cost to spay/neuter and vaccinate the community cats in their neighborhoods.
