Qualified contractors sought for Business Assistance Fund projects

The city is seeking qualified contractors to assist with Business Assistance Fund projects through the Downtown Revitalization Initiative, according to a release from City Hall Friday.

“On behalf of the prospective Business Assistance Fund applicants, the city of Rome is looking to engage qualified general contractors and suppliers to provide various services for rehabilitation, renovations, and equipment/business supplies within the program target area,” the release said.

The plan is for contractors that meet the qualifications to submit contact information, which will be added to a list that will be made available to business owners receiving BAF funding. Qualified contractors must:

Possess a current business license where required by local law.

Not be debarred from conducting business with the State of New York.

Have sufficient workers’ compensation and general liability insurance policies in force.

Demonstrate successful experience in each of the areas listed under “Role of Contractor,” found in the full RFQL document under “Business Assistance Fund Contractor RFQL” at romenewyork.com/development-opportunities/.

Required submittals can also be found at romenewyork.com. Responses must be received and timestamped no later than noon on Thursday, Jan. 31. Questions regarding the Request for Qualifications or the Business Assistance Fund can be directed to Makenzi Enos at menos@romecitygov.com or by calling 315-339-7608.
