The Jan. 30 letter of Michael Bosak of Utica regarding the downtown Utica hospital plan was concise, very informative and articulated the feelings of many area residents on this topic.
A salient point he makes is when he says some are unwilling to speak for fear of reprisals. I personally have talked to quite a few medical people and most did want to give their opinion of the downtown location, one way or another.
We have not publicly heard from some doctors, nurses, technicians and the other employees this will affect. I say let Utica have its urban development (the beer museum, the new casino, Aud expansion etc.) but put the new hospital on vacant land adjoining St. Luke’s.
