Pumpkin Chucking at Jervis library Oct. 27
ROME — Jervis Public Library, 613 N. Washington St., will host a Mini Pumpkin Chuckin’ event on Thursday, Oct. 27, at 5 p.m.
Geared for children, this Halloween themed STEM challenge will take place on the library lawn, led by Emily Rundle, children’s librarian.
Children will be supplied with materials to build a small catapult to “chuck” a candy pumpkin as far as they can down the mini pumpkin chuckin’ field. Learn more about pumpkin chuckin from this video from the Smithsonian, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dmSyrGsqmg8 .
In the event of poor weather the program will be moved indoors to the children’s room.
