Public hearing set in Oneida on Wampsville request to annex end of street
ONEIDA — A public hearing has been scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19, in the Oneida Common Council Chambers to solicit comments on a petition received from the village of Wampsville requesting to annex the end of Daniels Drive in Oneida.
Mayor Helen Acker said Daniels Drive contains nine properties with eight buildings and accounts for around $10,000 in tax income to the city. If the properties are annexed, they’d no longer be serviced by the Oneida Fire Department or Oneida Police Department.
The Oneida Common Council will be expected to vote on this matter at a later date after the public hearing. Acker said whatever decision is to be made must be for the good for the city of Oneida and its residents, and she encouraged people to attend or submit written comments if they’re unable to attend.
Written comments may be submitted to the City Clerk, City of Oneida, 109 N. Main Street, Oneida NY 13421 prior to the meeting. Any persons with special needs should contact the city clerk one week prior to the hearing.
The Oneida Common Council Chambers are located at 109 North Main street in Oneida.
