PROSPECT — The Prospect Free Library will present “Sporting Fashions: Outdoor Girls 1800 - 1960” with Joan Shkane on Saturday, May 13 at 1 p.m.

This program is a preview to an exhibit that will be displayed at Munson (formerly Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute) from June 23 until Sept. 17.

Officials said the exhibit will “explore the evolution of women’s athletic and leisure attire” and “how clothing met the needs of women pursuing active participation in sports and outdoor activities for over two centuries.” Light refreshments will be served.

On Saturday, May 20 at 1 p.m., Joan Herrmann will talk about eagles and owls. Herrmann is a professional nature photographer, writer, and outdoor educator. She has been teaching and presenting programs to schools, garden clubs, libraries, and nature centers for 38 years. She works with the Black River Outdoor Educational Program and writes a bi-monthly column for two area newspapers. Light refreshments will be served. Prospect Library is located at 116 Upper State Street in the center of the hamlet of Prospect.
