Pontoon boat flips on Fourth Lake; operator charged, police say
WEBB — A Boonville man has been charged with boating while intoxicated on Fourth Lake after his pontoon boat overturned Sunday evening, according to the Webb Police Department.
Police said they were called to Fourth Lake at about 7:44 p.m. Sunday for a pontoon jet boat that had overturned near the entrance to the Third Lake channel. Police said the boat was partially submerged, with seven people in the water.
No one was injured and all seven were safely brought to land, police stated. The boat was owned by Daiker's Rental Boats.
The operator of the boat, 30-year-old Dylan T. Lyon, of Boonville, is charged with boating while intoxicated and boating with a blood alcohol content of 0.08% or greater, police said. The crash has been blamed on both the alcohol and operator inexperience.
Lyon was released on appearance tickets for Webb Town Court for Aug. 11.
