Police seek video of incident at Pop Warner game

The Rome Police Department is continuing to investigate the reported fight at a Pop Warner football game and are asking the public for more video recordings of the incident.

No arrests have been made so far.

Police said a spectator started a fight at a Rome Colts Pop Warner football game on Bell Road on Sept. 29.

Police said the fight involved multiple spectators and many people at the scene recorded the fight on their cell phones.

Due to the fight, the Tri-Valley Pop Warner — which oversees the local league and organizations — canceled the rest of the Rome Colts’ tackle football season, although dozens of children and parents gathered outside of Rome City Hall immediately following the league’s decision to try to have their season restored.

Anyone with a video of the incident is asked to contact Det. Robert Galluppi at 315-337-7716.
