Utica police say woman forcibly stole wallet
UTICA — A 44-year-old woman has been charged with forcibly stealing another person's wallet in Utica, according to the Utica Police Department.
Police said Jessica Schaffer, of Utica, punched another person in the face and stole their wallet during a mid-July encounter. Police said they were able to obtain security camera footage from the area and identified Schaffer.
Schaffer was located on Plant Street on Thursday and was taken into custody on one count of third-degree robbery, police said, as well as an outstanding warrant for fourth-degree possession of stolen property. She is scheduled to appear in Utica City Court.
