Police say Westernville woman driving stolen pickup

ROME — A 39-year-old woman was accused of driving a stolen pickup truck and forged paperwork.

Police said Jacquelyn R. Colmey, of Westernville, was pulled over leaving the Bloomfield Garden Apartments at about 4 p.m. June 9 because the license plates on her pickup truck were registered to a different vehicle entirely. Once stopped, police said Colmey gave the officers a different person’s driver’s license, and both the registration and inspection paperwork appeared to be forged. Police said Colmey did not know whose truck she was driving — and it was soon reported stolen while officers were conducting their investigation. A warrant was issued for Colmey and she was taken into custody on Tuesday.

Colmey is charged with one count each of third-degree possession of stolen property and second-degree possession of a forged instrument, police stated. She will appear in City Court.
