Police say man smashed child’s cellphone


A 31-year-old man has been charged with smashing a cell phone while his child was on the line with 9-1-1 on Park Drive on Friday, according to law enforcement officials.

Police said that Aaron J. Smith, of Park Drive, was in an argument with his fiancée at their home at about 10:22 p.m. Friday.

Police said that during the argument, the couple’s young son called 9-1-1. Police said Smith took the cell phone from the boy while he was on the line with a dispatcher, then Smith smashed the phone on the floor.

Smith is charged with two counts of fourth-degree mischief, authorities said.

He is scheduled to appear
in City Court to answer the charges according to the law enforcements.
