Police say Rome man kicked in door during argument

A 42-year-old man has been charged with kicking in a door during a domestic dispute at Park Drive Manor II in Rome, according to the Rome Police Department.

Police said Al Daniels, of Park Drive Manor II, was in an argument with a woman at their residence at about 8:10 a.m. on May 25.

Police said the woman locked herself in the bathroom to get away, and Daniels kicked in the door, breaking it off its frame.

Police said the woman called 9-1-1 on her cell phone and Daniels unsuccessfully tried to grab the phone.

Police said Daniels slapped the woman in the shoulder multiple times.

Daniels fled the residence, authorities said, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Police said Daniels was taken into custody early Wednesday morning on one count each of second-degree harassment and fourth-degree mischief.

He is scheduled to appear in Rome City Court, police said.
