Police: Man trashed apartment during dispute, fled scene

A 25-year-old man is accused of trashing a Liberty Gardens apartment during a domestic dispute Thursday night, according to local law enforcement

Police said Joshua A. Reed, of Rehm Road, Florence, went to an apartment at Liberty Gardens shortly before 9 p.m. Thursday and got into an argument with a woman inside. Police said Reed was drunk and he started smashing property inside the home, including flipping a table

When the woman inside fled to her bedroom to call 9-1-1, police said Reed kicked open the bedroom door and pushed the woman onto the bed. Police said Reed fled the home and his vehicle was spotted by officers who were heading to the reported dispute.

Police said they activated their lights to pull over the vehicle and Reed hit the gas and fled. Officers pursued, then the pursuit was called off when they lost the vehicle on Dominick Street.

Authorities said Reed later returned to the residence while officers were still on the scene. He was taken into custody.

Reed is charged with two counts of fourth-degree mischief and one count each of second-degree harassment and third-degree tampering, police stated. He is scheduled to appear in court.
