Police: Man stabbed into weekend incident non-cooperative

A reported stabbing on West Dominick Street early Saturday morning is under investigation by Rome Police — but they said the victim is not cooperating.

Authorities said they responded to a residence in the 400 block at about 5:43 a.m. for a reported assault. Upon arrival, police said they spoke with 23-year-old Christopher M. Adams, who stated that he had been stabbed in the chest.

Police said Adams was taken to a local hospital for treatment of his non-life threatening injuries.

Police said Adams has not been cooperative with the investigation and no arrests have been made.

Meanwhile, police noted that Adams is currently out on a bail bond for a weapons possession charge from earlier this month at Park Drive Manor. At about 2 a.m. July 5, police said Adams fired a handgun at a boy on a bicycle and hit the bicycle. The boy was not injured. Police said Adams was charged with weapon possession and reckless endangerment, and he was released on a bail bond. The case remains ongoing.
