Police investigate Utica man shot in leg


A Utica man was shot in the leg on the city’s east side Tuesday night and law enforcement is investigating.

Police said they were dispatched to a report of shots fired in the 1100 block of Leeds St. at about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, but the victim had already left the scene. Police said they learned that the male victim had been transported to St. Elizabeth Medical Center with a gunshot wound to his leg.

Police said the injury is not considered life-threatening. The identity of the victim has not yet been released.

No arrests have been made so far. Police said the investigation is continuing.
