Police accused man of forcible touching


A 25-year-old Utica man is accused of having inappropriate contact with two teenage girls, according to law enforcement officials.

Jean Martinez, of Utica, inappropriately touched a 15-year-old girl in two incidents in 2018 and 2020, and had inappropriate contact with a 14-year-old girl over social media, said investigators with the county Child Advocacy Center. Martinez was taken into custody on Thursday when he turned himself in to Utica Police.

Martinez is charged with one count each of forcible touching and endangering the welfare of a child, both misdemeanors, . He was released on appearance tickets to Utica City Court.

Both victims have been offered counseling through the CAC.
