Planning Board to take up proposal for fast food restaurant in January
ROME — A Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen location on Erie Boulevard West is in the works.
Liberty Restaurants Development, of Bellerose in Nassau County, and owner Fiore Nazarene, of Rome, were scheduled to appear before the city Planning Board for its regular monthly meeting Tuesday, which was cancelled to accommodate a board member who had a family emergency.
The next meeting of the Planning Board is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10 in Common Council Chambers of City Hall.
According to the Planning Board application, developers and owner Nazarene are proposing to construct a 2,532-square foot Popeyes fast food chicken restaurant at the former OTB at 526 Erie Blvd. W.
The proposed fast food restaurant is to have a double drive-thru with bypass, plus 21 parking spaces on the 1.08 acres. There will be 24 seats located inside the restaurant, and plans also include outdoor seating.
