STITTVILLE — Arrr ... the pirates are throwin’ a party!

It’s the seventh annual Royalty and Rogues, the Central New York Pirate Festival, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 24 and 25 at the Stittville firemen’s field, 8920 Route 365.

The festival centers around two days of the king and queen, portrayed by Simon and Ashley Moody, parlaying with Central New York’s own lovable shanty-singing pirates, The Paddy Nappers, about proper privateering and who gets what percentage of the booty!

There is all day entertainment with Adamo Ignis’ fire artistry and daring feats of fortitude; The Foxy Bard’s grand music and a little comedy; Phil Shakespeare, aka Will’s much funnier cousin; The Happy Haggs Dance Troupe of dancing witches; the Irish duo of Bailey and Quinn; Red Tie Variety’s juggling, tightrope walking and magic; Thimbleberry the Woodsprite and Crescent Collective Belly Dancer.

North Country Forge will be blacksmithing on site, and members of the Shire of Coppertree, SCA, will be on hand displaying medieval arts and battlefield prowess. The event also includes even more dancers, magic, music and fun.

It’s truly a fun event for the whole family. There is an arts section for kids to decorate a mask, a sword or a shield; carnival games and prizes for the wee ones and smaller folk; an all-day game area for children to load a cannon, shoot a catapult and bop-a-bear; and adults can to test their skill at archery or maybe even axe throwing.

Dozens of artisans and vendors will be displaying and selling their wares. Favorites include Tepee Novelty and Souvenirs, Wood Dragon’s Garden Soaps, The Button Guy, Adirondack Ando’s Cement Statuary, Mhisty’s Coven Tree, NerdZ ReZin, Random Thoughts Gifts, Dark Moon Creations Chainmail and many, many more.

Food concessions are by the Stittville Volunteer Fire Department with Daily Grind, TacoCat, and Dragon Ice Cream providing specialty treats. Johnny B’s Tavern will offer adult beverages.
