Simon is a terrier/pitbull mix who is about 5 years old and came to the shelter as a stray. Simon loves to play, is a bit of a busy body and just needs to be somewhere where he can use his smarts and energy every day. Simon is looking for an adoptive home or foster home with an experienced owner, and would do best with no small animals and no children as he does not realize his size and strength. He needs consistency and patience but enjoys working on training. He is very smart and learns quickly. Simon would love a family to call his own. Please stop by to meet him today – his adoption has been sponsored! Wanderers’ Rest Humane Association, 7138 Sutherland Drive, Canastota. Call 315-697-2796.
Meet Peggy! She is a 2-year-old pup looking for a new home. Peggy came in as a stray and no one came looking for her. She’s a friendly, wiggly pup who loves to play! Peggy did well when tested with other dogs. She didn’t do bad with cats, but she seems to want to chase them, so a cat-free home might be best for her. She is spayed, current on vaccines, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $120. Stop in to meet Peggy today or apply here to adopt: www.anitas-sshs.org/adopt/apply/Dog. This gorgeous grey and white tiger cat is named Whitney. She’s a real sweetheart but with an added bit of spice to make things interesting — she will “rough house” with someone too! She loves attention, but mostly on her own terms. She would love to be adopted by someone who would appreciate her personality. We think she would do very well in a home with another cat, but would definitely require a slow introduction. Perhaps a calmer cat in the household who would respect her space would be best. She is also quite the chatterbox and will carry on conversations with you! To visit Whitney, stop by the Humane Society of Rome, 6247 Lamphear Road, call 315-336-7070 or go to www.humanesocietyrome.com.
