Oneida County Executive Anthony J. Picente Jr. gives his 11th State of the County address March 2, according to a county announcement today.
He will outline his perspective on the past year for the county and what he sees ahead starting at 4:30 p.m. at Daniele’s Banquet Specialists, 8360 Seneca Turnpike, New Hartford.
A free reception will follow. The doors will open at 4 p.m., the announcement said.
This year’s format is different from past ones when Picente has given his speech at a breakfast event hosted by the Greater Utica Chamber of Commerce. It typically drew an audience of several hundred.
“We decided to change it up,” said Picente in discussing the shift in time to a late afternoon address.
He said Daniele’s is large enough so the speech and reception can be held in separate rooms.
There will be no cost to county taxpayers because the expense will be picked up by Picente’s campaign committee, the Republican county executive said.
According to the most recent finance report on file with the state Board of Elections, the treasury had $90,474 on hand as of July.
County Legislator Jeffrey E. Daniels Jr., R-18, Utica, operates Daniele’s.
