Pedestrian hit by car in Holland Patent

HOLLAND PATENT — A woman was injured when she was attempting to cross Main Street in the village and was struck by a car while in the crosswalk Wednesday.

Deputy Ned Bektic said Leeann Paolini, 56, of Holland Patent, was crossing the roadway in the cross walk when she was struck by a gray 2012 Subaru Impreza, driven by Anita Brundage, 69, of Newcomb, Essex County, who was eastbound at about 4:40 p.m.

Paolini was transported by Star Ambulance to St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica, to be treated for injuries, Bektic said.

Brundage was charged with failure to yield the right of way to a pedestrian in a crosswalk, the law enforcer added.

Holland Patent Fire Department and state police assisted.
