Paul M. Howard, 78, of Utica, passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse. Born in Clinton, NC, on April 29, 1941, he was the son of the late Paul and Beulah (Hobbs) Howard. He was married to the former Carolyn Exum.
Paul worked for many years at the Rome State School and Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse. He loved to go for rides on his motorcycles, or spend the day outdoors hunting or fishing. He also enjoyed visiting family down in North Carolina.
Paul is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn; seven children, Haleem, Fatima, Jemel, Jemelia, Trish, Manley and Kahwima; stepchildren, Allen and Joseph; sister, Mary Howard Smith; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a son, Ali and three brothers, Lewis, James and Jerry Sr.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in Lee. Family and friends are invited to call at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome, on Tuesday from 5-7 p.m.
