Cinema Capitol (230 W. Dominick St.) will present the drama “The Lighthouse” from Friday, Nov. 8-Thursday, Nov. 21.
Directed by Robert Eggers, “The Lighthouse” tells the hypnotic and hallucinatory tale of two lighthouse keepers (Robert Pattinson & Willem Dafoe). Stationed on a remote and mysterious New England island in the 1890s, the two must manage to keep their sanity after a serious storm hits.
The Chicago Sun-Times writes “The actors play it big and bold in a visually striking, black and white horror show.” Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Times writes “At a time when American movies are overrun with shopworn visions, its madness is a balm and a beacon.”
“The Lighthouse” runs 110 minutes and is rated R. Admission is $8, $7 for students and military, and $6 for Capitol Friends. Tickets are available at the door and in advance from the Capitol box office (315-337-6453) and online at www.romecapitol.com. Show times are Fridays and Saturdays at 4:15 and 7:15 p.m., Sundays at 1:15 and 4:15 p.m., and Mondays-Thursdays at 7:15 p.m. Friday’s 4:15 and Sunday’s 1:15 shows will include captions for the hearing-impaired.
