Patricia Lorraine Rush

Patricia Lorraine Rush passed away at home peacefully with her loving husband at her side on August 21, 2022. She was born to Lawrence and Elizabeth Larivee on March 17, 1940. She graduated from Whitesboro High School in 1958. She worked for the US Postal Service, first as a mail carrier and eventually as Postmaster of multiple Central New York post offices. She retired from the post office in 2000 after 21 years of service, most recently as Postmaster in Sylvan Beach, NY. She raised her family in Camden, NY, and retired to Zephyrhills, Florida, with her husband of 33 years, Marvin Rush. In addition to her husband, and brother, Lawrence Larivee of King, NC, she is survived by her six children, Deborah (James) Adams of Flowery Branch, GA; Robert (Joanne) Lewis Jr. of Flowery Branch, GA; Steven (Mimi) Lewis of Charlotte, NC; Shari (Bill) Lewis of Dacula, GA; Wende (Chip) Dixon of Durhamville, NY; and Roger (Stacey) Rush of Garner, NC. She was a loving grandmother to her 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Pat was a devout Christian, loved to spend time with her family, enjoyed travel, and was always grateful for the Florida sunshine. As a mother, she instilled a work ethic and dedication to family that her children embody, and as a grandmother, she instilled a love of family that will live on. She was an avid seamstress, cardplayer and shopper! She was a beautiful, intelligent, and strong woman who overcame many challenges in her life to find success and happiness.

A memorial service celebrating her life will be held for immediate family. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Pat’s memory to Susan G. Komen breast cancer foundation or to a local women’s shelter as these were causes she supported throughout her life.
