NEW HARTFORD — A man wanted by the county Probation Department was found outside Sangertown Square Mall with quantities of fentanyl and clonazepam, according to law enforcement officials.
Police said Anthony Zammiello, 31, was spotted in the parking lot outside Target Thursday afternoon and was taken into custody on a warrant for a probation violation. Police said Zammiello was searched and they found 26 individually wrapped baggies of fentanyl, totaling more than half an ounce.
Police said Zammiello
was also found with 23 clonazepam pills and a large amount of cash.
Along with the warrant, Zammiello is charged with one count each of third-degree possession of a controlled substance, a class B felony, and seventh-degree possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, authorities stated.
The investigation is continuing and police said additional charges are possible.
Zammiello is scheduled to appear in court.
