LOWVILLE — A 32-year-old parolee is facing multiple felony charges for methamphetamine possession in Lewis County, according to the Lewis County Drug Task Force.

Authorities said Joshua J. Young, 32, of Division Street, Lowville, was indicted by a Lewis County grand jury on three counts of each of third-degree possession and third-degree sale of a controlled substance, both felonies. Authorities said Young possessed a quantity of meth in Lewis County.

An indictment is a formal charge made against a person by a grand jury. It does not establish guilt or remove the presumption of innocence.

Young was taken into custody on Friday when he reported to his parole officer. Young has been in and out of state prison for the past decade. According to state records, Young served from August 2010 to May 2011 on charges of burglary and grand larceny out of Lewis County; he served time between April 2012 and August 2018 for charges of assault and possession of stolen property; and he served from August 2020 to April 2022 on charges of grand larceny and assault.
