Parking spot memorial was in honor of vets

Memorial Day provides all of us with an opportunity to pause and remember all those who have fallen in defense of our country, whether here or abroad.

One of the most poignant memorials I saw today, was the simple, yet thoughtfully decorated, reserved parking spot in our local Lowe’s parking lot.

This was reserved in honor of our fallen military, complete with flag at half staff.

It gave pause to those rushing about their errands, to think that those fallen had also once had busy lives, families, homes that maybe needed repair, lawns that needed mowing, dreams.

Because they fell, we are able to stand tall in this America, with our freedoms still intact.

Thank you to the employees of Lowes for that parking spot – it spoke volumes and meant much.
