Pair of inmates charged with possessing contraband

WHITESTOWN — Two inmates were charged Friday with possessing contraband in Oneida County Correctional Facility.

Sheriff’s Sgt. Thomas J. Pietruch Jr. said Kendall Jackson, 40, of Utica, and Kyle McJury, 19, of Canastota, were found to have a cigarette lighter in their possession. In addition, McJury was found by correctional officers with a quantity of marijuana, Pietruch said.

Jackson and McJury were each charged with a count of first-degree promoting prison contraband, a class D felony.

Both inmates were arraigned in the centralized arraignment court and are being held at the correctional facility.
