Two Utica men convicted of drug trafficking were sentenced in Federal Court in Syracuse on Wednesday.
Abner Peralta, 31, was sentenced to five years in prison, followed by four years of post-release supervision, while Luis Colon, 35, was sentenced to time served, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Both men were found guilty of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute cocaine in a jury trial in February. Authorities said the two men trafficked cocaine in the Utica area between October 2016 and October 2017. Authorities said Peralta was head of the drug operation and that he had a stash house in Utica where he stored drugs and drug-packaging materials. The stash house was raided in October 2017.
