Pair found with narcotics, Rome police say
ROME — A man and woman were both taken into custody early Friday morning after they were found with narcotics in Rome, according to the Rome Police Department.
Police said Thomas A. Sperduto, 45, of Durhamville, and Danielle N. Guglielmo, 28, of Rome, were acting suspicious in a vehicle parked outside the Stewart's Shop on Erie Boulevard West at about 4:50 a.m. Friday. A police officer saw them before going into the store, at which point a Stewart's employee told the officer they had been parked for about half an hour with neither entering the store.
The officer then approached them in their vehicle and police said they were found with a small quantity of methamphetamine and some prescription pills.
Guglielmo is charged with three counts of seventh-degree possession of a controlled substance and Sperduto is charged with two counts of seventh-degree possession, police stated. They are scheduled to appear in Rome City Court.
