Found in the basement of their former Henry Street home early Saturday morning, law enforcers said a man and woman have both been charged with felony possession of methamphetamine.
Police said the current resident on Henry Street woke up to the sounds of someone in her basement at about 2:30 a.m. Saturday.
The woman called 9-1-1 and responding officers found the outside basement door open with lights on inside.
Police said Scott A. Hence, 31, and Ashley L. Shetler, 27, both of 414 West St., were found in the basement.
Police said the pair were found with a quantity of methamphetamine and the ingredients used to cook more meth. They were taken into custody.
Hence told police that he used to live at the residence and had permission from the property owner to fix a door.
Police said the property owner agreed that Hence had permission to be at the residence, but not in the basement at 2 a.m. on a Saturday.
Hence and Shetler are both charged with one count each of second-degree possession of a controlled substance, a class A-2 felony, third-degree
unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine and third-
degree trespass, police stated.
They are scheduled to appear in City Court, according to the law enforcers.
