Pair charged following attack on woman in Rome
ROME — A man and woman are both facing charges after getting into a fight with his mother on Ann Street on Sunday, according to the Rome Police Department.
Police said Jonathan M. Kimball, 27, and Makayla L. Baron, 25, both of Rome, got into an argument with Kimball's mother at a residence in the 400 block of Ann Street around 5:20 p.m. Sunday. During the argument, police said Baron struck the other woman, and Baron grappled with her on the ground.
While on the ground, police said Kimball climbed on top of his mother and head-butted her in the face. Four children were at the residence at the time, ranging in age from 5 to 9, police noted.
Kimball and Baron are both charged with four counts of endangering the welfare of a child, and Kimball is charged with an additional count of third-degree assault, police said. They are both scheduled to appear in Rome City Court.
