Paintings by Claudine Metrick on display at The Other Side
UTICA — The Other Side Gallery, 2011 Genesee St., will host “Senescence: Paintings by Claudine Metrick” starting with an opening reception from 5-7 p.m. Friday, March 4.
The exhibit will run through April 30. Regular hours of the gallery are noon to 3 p.m. Thursdays and Saturdays.
Born in Philadelphia, Pa., Metrick studied painting earning her master’s of fine arts degree from the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth.
She is an associate professor of 2D Foundations at Pratt Munson-Williams-Proctor in Utica.
She was a finalist for the Walter Feldman Fellowship for Emerging Artists in Boston in 2015 and an artist in residence at Norton Island in Maine. Her work has been exhibited at the Vessels’ Gallery formerly in Boston’s South End, as well as Carroll and Sons, the Dedee Shattuck Gallery, Danforth Museum of Art, the New Bedford Art Museum, the Cotuit Center for the Arts, AS220, Arizona State University, Morehead State University, Adams State University and in the New York City area at The Painting Center, Site: Brooklyn, and Curious Matter.
Recent shows include the “26th Annual Drawing Show” at The Boston Center for the Arts in Boston, Mass., and a group exhibition “Bloom” at Millersville University.
