OLD FORGE — The 21st annual Adirondack Paddlefest and Outdoor Expo, hailed by organizers as America’s largest on-water canoe, kayak, and SUP sale, will be held May 17-19 at Mountainman’s Paddlesports & Gear shops on Route 28.
This year’s show will also feature the Annual Adirondack Paddlefest Kayak Fishing Tournament on Sunday, May 19, organizers added.
“Adirondack Paddlefest is the region’s best opportunity for paddlers to see everything that the Paddlesports Industry has to offer,” said John Nemjo, owner of Mountainman Outdoor Supply Company.
Adirondack Paddlefest offers a large selection of canoes, kayaks and SUP’s and gives paddlers the opportunity to test-paddle before buying. More than 1,000 canoes, kayaks and paddleboards from more than two dozen leading manufacturers will be on sale.
The event features free clinics and demos from leading experts in the Paddlesports and Outdoor industry to help you improve your paddling techniques and put you in the best equipment for your individual needs.
In addition to boats, there will be a full lineup of paddling gear and accessories on sale, including paddles, lifejackets, rack systems, trailers and more.
The event is free to the public, although there is a nominal fee for test paddling and the fishing tournament, organizers said.

“I have been a vendor at Adirondack Paddlefest for many years and find no better Paddlesports show to attend in the entire northeast region,” said Danny Mongno, Sales Representative of Northwest River Supplies.
In addition to the boats and paddling gear, there will be special sale prices on gear, clothing and footwear from brands such as The Northface, Keen, Osprey and more. Sales representatives from many of these brands will be on hand to demonstrate gear and hold free clinics.
Mountainman is teaming up with Old Forge Hardware and Orvis to offer free classes on fly fishing for beginners. These sessions will help de-mystify the sport and give participants the knowledge needed to get started on their own, as well as a foundation on which to build their fly fishing education. Sessions will be held outside, so appropriate dress is recommended. All other equipment will be provided. Visit AdirondackPaddlefest.com to register.
