ROME — In a sign of the impending return of winter, the ban on overnight parking on city streets is set to resume on Tuesday, Nov. 1.

Rome police said the city law prohibits motorists parking their vehicles on city streets between 2 and 6 a.m. each day. The ban is in place, city officials said, to keep streets open so that snowplows will have clear access to the roads once the winter weather begins.

The ban will remain in effect until April 1.
