Other Side Gallery features art by Christine Tisa

UTICA — The Other Side Gallery, 2011 Genesee St., will exhibit the works of local artist Christine Tisa and will host an opening reception from 5-7 p.m. Friday, May 6.

Tisa’s work focuses on the place where nature, human connection, and spiritualism meet. She currently works and provides art instruction at Tisa Gallery in Clinton and Thousand Islands Art Center in Clayton.

Tisa earned her master’s of science degree in art education at Syracuse University and her master’s of fine arts in painting and printmaking at Rochester Institute of Technology. She has received numerous awards and honors for her work, both in painting and printmaking. They include first place at the WCNY Art invitational at Everson Museum in Syracuse, first place printmaking, North Country Artist Guild National Exhibit in Watertown and outstanding painting award at the Memorial Art Gallery National Exhibit in Rochester.
