ROUNDUP: Oriskany shuts out Poland in CSC baseball contest; New York Mills baseball cruises past Old Forge

Three Oriskany pitchers combined to hold Poland scoreless in the team’s 8-0 win on the road Wednesday in Center State Conference play.

Eddie Wright threw four innings while allowing two hits and striking out five. Anthony Kernan threw two innings of hitless baseball with three strikeouts. Alex Burrows went one inning, allowing two hits and two walks.

On offense Ty Zizzi led Oriskany with four hits including a double, with two RBIs and a run scored. Christian Grant had three hits, two runs and an RBI. Nick Hays had two hits and two runs scored.

Statistics for Poland were not submitted.

Oriskany hosts Remsen at 4:30 p.m. Friday in the league.

New York Mills baseball cruises past Old Forge

The New York Mils baseball team scored 15 runs in the second inning and grabbed a 26-0 win over Old Forge in five innings.

New York Mills totaled 26 hits in the team’s fifth consecutive win.

Logan Copperwheat finished 3-for-3 with a home run, two runs and five runs batted in for New York Mills. He was also hit by a pitch.

Noah Diskin went 3-for-4 with a double, four runs and four RBIs. He also drew two walks. Leo Cruz and Tim Lavier each had four hits and three RBIs for the Marauders.

A total of 10 Marauders had at least one RBI.

New York Mills is next scheduled to play visiting Hamilton at 4:30 p.m. Friday.

Stats were unavailable for Old Forge (0-5), which is scheduled to play at Morrisville-Eaton at 4:30 p.m. Friday.
