FRANKFORT — The Oriskany softball team beat Center State Conference rival Frankfort-Schuyler 3-2 on Friday as Matteson Hoehn pitched the complete game for the Redskins, striking out 11.
At the plate for Oriskany, Maddelyn Hoehn was three-for-four with two doubles. Matteson Hoehn helped her own cause with two hits. Phelan Shannon had two hits and two RBIs, including the game winning two-run homer.
In the top of the seventh inning with Oriskany trailing 2-1, Juliette Tagliaferri led off with a single to right. With two outs and Tagliaferri on third, Shannon drove a 3-2 pitch over the left-center field fence for the go ahead runs.
Trinity Critelli took the pitching loss, working a complete game and striking out nine while not walking a batter.
