The Oriskany junior varsity boys basketball team earned its seventh win of the season with a 68-41 road victory over rival Westmoreland.
Steven Armstrong led the Redskins with a double-double, scoring 14 points and pulling down 10 rebounds. Armstrong also had five steals for Oriskany in the win.
For the Bulldogs, David Piersall scored a game-high 18 points and John Dillon added 10 points in the loss.
HP falls at buzzer
In another boys JV basketball game, Holland Patent lost to Cooperstown, 58-55 after missing a three-point shot at the buzzer.
Marquis Magyar led the way for the Golden Knights with 17 points. Mike Benedetto added 15 points for HP and Shane Morehead finished with 10.
The Golden Knights fell to 5-6.
RFA defeats ES-M
The Rome Free Academy girls JV volleyball team defeated host East Syracuse-Minoa, 19-25, 25-4 and 25-17.
Erin Harris had six digs and 10 kills to go along with six service points for the 7-6 Black Knights and Madison Wolfe had two aces, 10 kills and 11 service points.
In another girls JV volleyball match, Westmoreland swept Morrisville-Eaton, 25-23 and 25-21 on the road.
Katie Fedor had five aces and three assists to go along with nine service points and Bella Barretta had four aces and seven service points for the Bulldogs.
