Open house to show retirees program opportunities
ROME — A Mohawk Valley Institute for Learning in Retirement (MVILR) fall open house will take place from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, Sept. 8, on Mohawk Valley Community College’s Rome Campus, 1101 Floyd Ave.
The open house offers an opportunity for community members to learn more about MVILR, a non-profit organization that provides local retirees with learning opportunities, including speakers, special programs, and a variety of non-credit courses taught by volunteer facilitators, members, and guest professionals.
Attendees also will have the chance to meet current MVILR members, tour classrooms and state-of-the-art special event spaces, learn about MVILR memberships, and talk to facilitators about the classes they are teaching this fall, according to an announcement by program officials.
Registration for fall classes is under way. For information, go online to mvcc.edu/mvilr or contact the MVILR Office by emailing sessafi@mvcc.edu or calling 315-334-7761.
