ONEIDA — The city of Oneida Water Department will begin its fall flushing program on Monday, Sept. 30, according to an announcement by Water Superintendent George Kalkowsky.
During the four-week flushing program, the water may be discolored and a brief interruption of water service may be experienced in areas where the lines are being flushed, Kalkowsky said, adding "therefore, we recommend the use of as little water a possible and residents are advised not to do washing when flushing takes place on their street."
The flushing schedule is as follows:
Monday, Sept. 30
Transmission main from Glenmore Reservoir to Oneida. Discolored water may be experienced in scattered areas, including Sherrill, Stockbridge, Wampsville and Durhamville. Investigate the water condition before using for washing.
